eBay Seller Scams and Complaints

What Happens When eBay Sellers Scam Customers:

Here’s What Customers Can Do When They Get Ripped Off

A series of recent bad experiences prompted me to finally speak up about certain ebay sellers that seem to be above the TOS (terms of service) set out by eBay. After doing some extensive research and not giving up on a fight to get my money back, I found that persistence and recognizing seller manipulation was key to winning a fight. I also found that too many people just give up, fall prey to sneaky little seller tactics and just do not speak up to expose these crooks. Yes…CROOKS. I say that because they can actually keep your money by making things so difficult that it deems not worth it to pursue some justice. Knowing the rules and how to fight these people is also key in getting a Resolution Mediator to side with you on your specific case.

I will focus on one particular Chinese seller who goes by the name of “pitalam”. I purchased a genuine SJ6000 12MP full HD 1080P WiFi waterproof sport DV camera W/ TV system from this ebay seller on December 24th 1914 and payed promptly through my payPal account. I was told the item would reach me on January 22 1915. That’s almost 1 month of shipping time. Quite enough time in this day and age of advanced transportation. I might add that last year I received a DJI Phantom 2 Quadcopter from China in 3 days. I patiently waited and the item did not arrive on Jan. 22 as stated by pitalam so I proceeded to open a case with eBay. By the way, always act immediately on any issue concerning a transaction gone wrong. This will save you many headaches down the road. eBay then contacts you and asks to give the seller a chance to respond and offer you a solution to a late delivery. Fair enough.

This is the email I received the next day.

Seller’s message:
“Dear friend, Thanks for your information and business with us. I m so sorry for your long waiting. We shipped your item on Dec. 25, 2014 via EUB, the tracking number is _________. Normally,it will take 20-25 working days to arrive, sometimes faster. However, it is logistic peak recently and now is during the new year holiday, so the shipping time might be a little longer. So sorry for this inconvenience, but pls do not worry, it s normal. Just now we checked, the information is: Your item departed our USPS facility in ANAHEIM, CA 92899 on January 24, 2015 at 1:38 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination. You will receive it very soon~ About in 2 days, or even 1 day. So could you pls kindly help to wait a few more hours? Your kind understanding and patience would be highly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!:) Hope you could kindly understand me. Please reply me with your thought. Thanks and have a nice day!:) Best Regards, Nancy”
